Crafty Kids Giving Gifts
Since I'm doing a homemade Christmas this year, I wanted to give my guys the opportunity to make something to give too. This is a super easy, eco-friendly, inexpensive gift that kids enjoy making and stands a good chance of being enjoyed by the recipient. Here's how:
Container with lid (glass jar is ideal)
2 cups Epsom Salt
1 cup Baking Soda
1/2 cup Coarse Salt (all available at the grocery store)
A few drops of essential oil - mint, citrus or lavender
Mix, pour into container and add a label. Putting their names on it makes it more personal and the kids are proud to have made it by themselves.
A side note: a great source for 100% pure natural mint oil is www.getmint.com this is a Michigan family-run farm that is one of the few mint farms left in the US. They are in danger of foreclosure, so purchases help keep this farm from being shut down. This recipe is just one of many uses for mint oil, so a $6 dram purchase is well worth it and helps save one of the oldest mint farms left.
