So easy a caveman could do it!
I'm not kidding with the title of this post - this is such an easy project - even for a non-sewer. This is a b-day present for my mom today. The fabric comes pre-smocked at the top, so all you have to do is sew the length ends together and hem as needed and voila! A great warm weather dress. The fabric is sold by the inch, so it's relatively easy to figure out how much you need (but it is 100% cotton and does shrink, so buy an extra inch or two to be safe). Normally it's a little pricey for the longer fabric like this, but with a 40% off coupon it was such a good deal and the fabric choices were much prettier than pre-made dresses like this. I also like it because it's flattering to almost every body shape, so even my pregnant self can wear it and then wear it again post-baby. Winter looks like it's finally over, so I can't wait to sew up the fabric I got for myself.

Ugg! I got some of this lovely fabric in green flowers for my little girl and then stupidly cut it straight instead of in an A-line, so that she can actually wear it. Any ideas on what I can do with a long piece of straight cut, shirred, cotton? Guess I need to get my club out and go hit a dinosaur, huh. ;0)
