Starting Springtime Seeds
Now that spring is here and I'm finally getting over the world's most annoying cold, we started our newest homeschool topic: seeds. In addition to reading all about them, Ethan helped me select our garden seeds and get them started today. We plan on keeping a photo journal, writing down his observations as they grow. We'll continue with that & working on gardening skills once the seedlings get planted in our garden right through to harvesting and canning. I decided we'd be ambitious this year and try some new things in addition to old favorites: for the Herbs section we've got thyme, oregano, basil, dill, rosemary, cilantro & parsley and for the Vegetables we've got cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, peas, green beans, onions and carrots. We had pretty good luck with growing from seeds last year, so here's hoping this year will do even better!
