Happy Valentine's Day!

Wow did this week go by fast!  I hope our Valentine's projects have added a little fun to your holiday.  Showing my love for my kids has really inspired me this year & made it a special time.  It was hard to contain Valentine's  to just this week!  I call my little girl my lovey dove and I thought this love bird fabric was a perfect fit for her First Valentine's Day.  I used the fabulous kimono pattern from the book Sweet Booties & chose grey bias tape for my edging to make it "pop" a bit.  I added a pink velour lining and used the leftover scrap to make a reversible waterproof bib with a velour back.

I love the unusual color combo & how surprisingly easy it was to match up with other stuff I already had.  Festive, but also wearable long after the usual store bought "My 1st Valentine's" gear is considered passé.  And isn't that what today is about anyway- making love last?  Hope you have a great day with your loved ones!
