This week I'm showcasing my Geek Chic Office Gear made with a new fabric from the Geeks Gone Wild collection designed by Kyla May for Timeless Treasures.
I loved this print so much I made a whole coordinated set. Today I'm showing how I turned this:
Into the this custom-themed note board:
First I cut out a piece each of fluffy batting & my gamer fabric that were 2" larger than the board on every side.
Since this was a stripe & I wanted it to look straight, I used a yard stick to line the fabric up:
Then, starting from the middle of each side, fold each side inward and fold inward again, pulling the fabric taut, and secure with staple gun.
Once all sides are stapled, the corners will look like this:
Fold corners inward, pulling them taut, and secure with another staple and then trim off the excess fabric:
Now the memo board is ready for critical notes like:
Some of you may recognize this catchphrase from the amazing geek show, The IT Crowd. And if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you do. It's sheer awesomeness. And as far as the memo board goes, in case I ever want the old look back, I can remove the staples, reuse the fabric & batting and have the old pink board back. So go ahead & customize away - geek style or not! Come on back tomorrow for another item from my Geek Chic Office Gear set:)
So much better updated!!! Please add this to my linky party today!
