Graphic projects I made with My Memories Suite |
Do you ever wish you had better graphics skills? Could put together blog headers, buttons or other graphic design projects in no time? I always wished I could. I love designing, but I have very limited skills in that area and even more limited time. And I don't have a budget to hire someone every time I want to do something new. Now I've found a way to make all my graphics dreams come true:
I'd tried out My Memories Suite a couple of years ago for making digital scrapbooking projects. It was pretty cool and I did some fun page layouts of my little miss:
I even made a digital look book for my custom hats:
They told me you can use it to make things like blog headers, buttons, invites & tags. All the sorts of stuff I NEED to make!
The control panel let's you easily change backgrounds, add embellishments, shapes & text, as well as photos, music, even video. And the editing tools are a breeze to use - so much easier for making graphics than PhotoShop!! They have tutorials for learning the basic software features in case you need help. I just started playing with it and after a few minutes I was making my first button. The trick is to just start a new "album" with the custom size you want, then export as a jpeg or png. A little while later I had three custom buttons created:
Easy and looking good! There are so many elements to choose from in the base program itself and there are always new freebie files coming out, so you can keep freshening your projects with new things. They also offer loads of file kits in all themes and styles if you're seeking a specific look or kind of design. The only downside, if you consider it a downside, is they have so much available, it's tough to make decisions!
I really like how you can make just about anything. My sister's bridal shower is coming up and I even made a custom invitation for it:
Since the files you make are printable, you can style things up for all kinds of uses. I plan to do other shower items to coordinate & make some more fun things for the blog too. Just one thing to keep in mind is to stick to personal use only - aka don't try to sell or distribute things you make with this software (scope out their Terms of Use for details on licensing).
I do wish they had more tutorials or use suggestions to get you going on things beyond the scrapbooking pages. They told me about using the suite for making buttons, tags, etc., but I couldn't find any how-to's for them and had to sort of figure it out on my own. It wasn't hard, but it would be nice to have some tips on those. In the meantime I'll try to get creative designing on my own. With the My Memories software, now it's a lot easier!
How about a chance for you to win a My Memories Suite & make graphics projects a breeze?
